How to add a poll to a page and let people vote

June 11, 2026·4 min read

Two homepage mockups, and the team can’t agree on which to ship. You could start another Slack thread of “I like B but the hero on A…”, or you could just let everyone vote. Shareable lets you put both designs on a page and collect real votes on the same link.

Short version
Put the two mockups on a Shareable page, turn on Poll in the Share dialog, ask “Which homepage?”, and send the link. People vote in a little widget with a live bar chart — anonymous, no account. You can hide results until they vote.

How it works

  1. Build the page. Paste the HTML your AI made, or drop in screenshots of each mockup — both designs on one page, side by side.
  2. Turn on the poll. In the Share dialog, flip on Poll, write the question (“Which homepage should we ship?”) and add the options (“Mockup A”, “Mockup B”).
  3. Share the link. Everyone who opens it sees a vote widget. They pick one, and the bar chart updates live.

The options you’ll want

  • Anonymous or verified. Default is anonymous — one vote per device, zero friction. Switch to verified email for one trustworthy vote per stakeholder.
  • Who sees the results. Everyone, only after they vote (keeps early votes from swaying people), or only you.
  • Named results. On a verified poll, you can let voters see who picked what — handy when a group is deciding together and you want it on the record.
  • A close date. Voting stops automatically when the decision window ends.

Each person gets one vote and can change their mind. You see the full tally — and can reset it — from the Share dialog. It pairs nicely with view analytics and access control: gate the page to the right people, see who opened it, and collect the votes, all on one link.

Made the mockups with AI? Shareable hosts the HTML Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini gives you and adds the poll on top — no rebuilding it anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How do I let people vote on a page?

Share the page on Shareable, turn on Poll in the Share dialog, type your question and the options, and send the link. Viewers see a small vote widget with a live bar chart. No account needed — voting can be fully anonymous.

Can voting be anonymous?

Yes. The default is anonymous — one vote per device, no email, no sign-up. If you’d rather have one verified vote per person, switch the poll to “verified email,” and each voter confirms their email once.

Can I hide the results until someone votes?

Yes. Choose who sees the tally: everyone, only after they vote (so early results don’t bias people), or only you. You can also set a close date.

Is the poll feature free?

Yes — polls are free on every Shareable plan, including the free tier.
